Debra’s
family is the strong foundation to her many successes. Her Mother and
Father spent time sharing their skills and their true Christian
foundation. They always encouraged new challenges and supported investment
projects. They taught Deb to cherish the gentle balance in nature and be
aware of our need to preserve beautiful natural resources such as wild
life, rivers, streams, & native lands.
Thru
Deb's art, she attempts to preserve much of the beautiful native
Florida
she loves.
Deb’s
sister, Ada Hall, has been one of her most courageous
supporters.
Ada
would laugh and joke with her when she needed that big
sister’s smile and take care of any responsibilities when Deb
fell short or needed a hand.
Many
of Deb's best paintings have been salvaged by
Ada
. At times, Deb would consider painting over a painting; Sister
would simply grab and run! As years pass we find that sister’s
eye for Deb’s paintings is something to pay attention to as
the most popular paintings available today by Hollingsworth in
GiClee reproduction are largely thanks to
Ada
making that quick decision.
James
F. Hall, Deb's brother –in- law, always offers his
kind and generous assistance without hesitation.
Deb's
mother, Beatrice, works daily helping Deb with every part of her
life & business. Beatrice keeps the business accounts,
encourages Deb to reach for high goals and never is too busy to
take a moment to share her endless love. “Mom” Hollingsworth
is a true southern lady and a loving wonderful person.
Mr.
J.”Lamar” Hollingsworth Jr., Debs father, passed away many
years ago though he is loved and remembered always by Debra. He
was an honest and honored business man
with in this community and a wonderful father.
Beatrice,
“Mom”, has enjoyed the fresh water lakes here in this
central part of
Florida
primarily in the
Lake Placid
area. There, all of her children have enjoyed countless
pleasures and wonderful memories while spending many summer
vacations on
Lake
June.
Robert
“Bob”
D.
Pike, Deb's brother, is a wonderful accomplished member of
Deb’s family & team. He spends much of his time at his
beautiful “Eagles Watch” home and private museum located in
Lake Placid,
Florida
which he has built over the past 30 years on
Lake
June
. This is where they enjoy the beauty that is endless. Every
moment over looking
Lake
June
is changing; every second is a new and different version of
“the most beautiful place on earth”. This is where Debra
enjoys her summers and many paintings depict various areas from
that central
Florida
location.
Debra
never had children of her own. Her five nieces and nephews are
“her children”, Jim
Hall, Gregg Hall, Stacey Clemons, Robb Pike and Kelly Pike Lotz.
They are now young adults who are extremely talented in each of their
fields.
Her
niece, Stacey, is a stained glass artist who has brilliant usage
in color with a natural God given talent. Stacey has chosen not
to offer her work in a commercial environment at this time
though is one of the most talented glass artists today.
"My
family is filled with many wonderfully talented
people, too many to name them all, but I would like to thank my Aunt Martha
Hollingsworth Lavender who is known around the world for her
accomplishments in fine art. She spent her many years enjoying
the finest in delicate porcelain painting on fine china and
influenced me with both her work and her instruction. I have had
the honor and pleasure of painting with this fantastic lady, my
Aunt Martha, who I love with all my heart.
Aunt
Eva Newton, who passed away before I had the chance to know and
enjoy painting with her, painted with the natural ability of a
great artist and primarily worked on canvas in oils. I observed
her elegant works of art in my family home my entire life time.
Her colors are warm and her paint simply flows across the
canvas.”
I
thank my precious Mother and Father and my entire family. God
has blessed me with many things, the love of family and friends,
talents with what seems to be no limits and the wisdom to
recognize these blessings.
